IMPORTANT! READ BEFORE INSTALLING 2.00!
1. Shut down all Line 6 software as well as any software that streams audio, including, but not limited to: iTunes, Spotify, DAWs, etc.
2. Use your CURRENT EXISTING Helix application to back up all of your presets and IRs (if you want to keep them). If you’re running Helix FW 1.12, your current Helix application version should be 1.12.
NOTE: You may want to back up individual Setlists so you can restore them to empty setlists without affecting the new 2.0 factory presets.
3. Quit the CURRENT EXISTING Helix editor application and download and install the NEW Helix editor application (2.00). This also installs the newest version of Line 6 Updater (1.09).
4. If you’re using Helix Rack with Helix Control, turn off Helix Control.
5. Using the latest Line 6 Updater (1.09), update Helix/Helix Rack to the newest firmware (2.00). At the end of the update process, Helix/Helix Rack will reboot automatically and begin rebuilding presets. Wait for this process to complete.
6. If you’re using Helix Control with Helix Rack, connect and power on Helix Control. The inspector will ask if you want to update its firmware. Press Knob 6 (OK).
7. Turn off Helix/Helix Rack. HELIX FLOOR: While holding footswitches 9 and 10 (middle two switches on the bottom row), turn on Helix. HELIX RACK: While holding knobs 5 and 6 below the screen, turn on Helix Rack. Wait for the message “Will reset Globals and restore stock Presets, Setlists and IRs…” to appear and let go.
8. Using the NEW Helix editor application (2.00), restore the user presets you backed up in step 2.
New Features:
- Snapshots—Select one of eight snapshots to instantly recall all block on/off states, up to 64 parameter values, certain Command Center values, and tempo. Any Delay, Reverb, or FX Loop block with its Trails parameter turned on will spill across snapshots seamlessly. Click the gray box below the large preset name and select the desired snapshot from the list. For more information, check out the new Helix Application Pilot’s Guide, available from the Help menu
- Copy/Paste Snapshots—Select the snapshot you want to copy, click the camera icon and select “Copy.” Select the snapshot you want to overwrite, click the camera icon and select “Paste”
- Rename Snapshots—Click the camera icon and select “Rename.” SHORTCUT: Click-hold the snapshot name
- Tempo Select—Click the Tempo box (to the left of TAP) and select Per Snapshot, Per Preset (the default), or Global
- Controllers to Variax Parameters—Controllers (including Snapshots) can now control/recall Variax parameters, so you can do cool stuff like toggle between two guitar models with a footswitch, control Variax’s tone knob with an expression pedal, assign a momentary footswitch to drop D, recall completely different tunings with each snapshot, and more. There’s nothing special to do; just assign a controller to Variax parameters like you would any other parameter
- Additional keyboard shortcuts:
B: Displays and places focus on the EDITOR window - Bypass Assign panel
Shift-Command-C (Win: Ctrl-Shift-C): Copies the currently selected snapshot to the clipboard
Shift-Command-V (Win: Ctrl-Shift-V): Pastes copied snapshot to the currently selected snapshot
Shift-Command-R (Win: Ctrl-Shift-R): Renames the currently selected snapshot
Other Improvements:
- If a controller is assigned to a parameter, brackets now appear around the value (as on the hardware)
- The Footswitch Assign page has been renamed “Bypass Assign” to better describe current and potential future functionality
- The Helix Application Pilot’s Guide has been updated to 2.0. From the Help menu, select “Helix Application Pilot’s Guide”
Bug Fixes:
- General stability improvements
- Minor bug fixes and optimizations
Known Issues:
- Attempting to drag more than 128 IRs into the Helix app will load no IRs at all
- Brackets may continue to appear around controller-assigned values even after performing a Clear All Controllers procedure
About DJ Mixers:
Updating the mixer’s firmware version can add support for newly developed features (or improve existing ones), enhance audio quality and transition effects, resolve different problems such as those regarding various noises heard in certain situations, and many other related improvements.
However, before downloading this package, go to the unit’s system information and make sure that the currently installed firmware isn’t either newer or matches this release. Moreover, you should know that an update failure might seriously damage the mixer’s software, so it is vital that you are familiar with the installation steps.
As for applying this release, you must transfer the downloadable package (or its content) to the mixer via any available methods, and power up the unit through various key combinations in order to enter update mode (make sure you read the product’s user guide).
This said, if you consider installing this release and you’re positive you have all the knowledge you need for a successful upgrade, download the package, and apply it to your mixer. Check with our website constantly so that you don’t miss any update that can improve your device.

It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.
Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
