Unfortunately Shimano's E-Tube Project software is not available for Macs. This can be a real problem to those wanting to update their Di2 firmware.

Shane Miller (GPLama) has recently published a video on running E-Tube Project on your Mac using a virtual machine. Click the image below for a link to the video:

  • Take your bike and your SM-BCR2 charger to a friend and hook it up to their Windows laptop/pc
  • Take your bike to a good Local Bike Shop (LBS) and ask them to update your Di2 firmware. They will be glad to help at low or even no cost
  • Install the e-Tube project mobile app (if you have the Wireless Unit) and update firmware that way. Be aware you may need to reset the system.
